The Boulevard Comes Alive with Appearances from the Cast and the Legendary Low-rider Gypsy Rose
LOS ANGELES – (June 22, 2017) – LA Plaza’s Summer Film Series kicks off with the screening of the 1979 Chicano film classic Boulevard Nights in an outdoor screening at the 2.2 acre downtown campus.
Meet cast members who will be part of a Q&A session including: Richard Yniguez, Danny Alvarez, Danny de la Paz, Roberto Covarrubias and Marta DuBois.
The program includes a car show from the Dukes and the Imperials with a special showing of the legendary low-rider Gypsy Rose. Music by Degruvme (La Junta) and a live performance by legendary Chicano East LA group Tierra. Food and beverages available for purchase by Zingo Tacos. Limited seating available on first come, first served basis, or bring your own blanket or beach chair. Doors open at 6, screening at 8.
Participate in a Q&A session with film contributors, including: actors Richard Yniguez, Danny Alvarez, Danny de la Paz, Roberto Covarrubias and Marta DuBois and musician Dr. Bobby Rodriguez; moderated by director Kenneth Castillo.
Check out classic cars from Imperial and Duke’s Car Clubs, including Jesse Valadez’s legendary low-rider, Gypsy Rose, which was recently added to the National Historic Vehicle Register in recognition of its significance in American automotive history.
Groove along with LA DJ and founding member of La Junta, DJ Degruvme and enjoy a live performance by legendary Chicano East LA group Tierra.
